Our Story

Gary Hodge

Born and raised in Ft. Pierce, Florida, Gary is an extraordinary, self taught individual - excelling in woodworking and perfectionism.  With countless renovations under his belt, he has a passion for all of the details that go into the construction process.  This is particularly handy when it comes to building a stunning piece of handmade furniture.  Gary is able to muscle through just about anything that comes his way!

Karen Hodge

Juggling being a stay-at-home Mom, homeschooling, creating and running three businesses and keeping up with the normal day to day, Karen feels her passion lies within interior design.  This proves extremely helpful when clients seek guidance with decor, placement and their overall style.  Throughout her years of experience in home improvement, visual design, photography, social media marketing and more - she has always looked for new and exciting ways to help keep the fluidity of her skillset sharp.

 Together

Married on February 26, 2016, Karen and Gary have embarked on their own personal 'dirt under the nails' type of journey.  From custom furniture builds, to residential remodeling and everything in between - there is nothing these two won't take on.  Their love for each other, and their families, are what drives them - and they know that together, they have it all. In 2017, they acquired the help of Karen's Father - who has been with My Flippin' Family, LLC ever since! With their knowledge, talent and dedication combined, they provide their clients with the best possible end results!

Peter Zavack

With over 50 years experience in construction, Pete is a true 'jack of all trades'. His wisdom is awe-inspiring and his ability to put clients at ease is unmatched. He is a huge reason My Flippin' Family, LLC has been so successful.  Both Karen and Gary have grown exponentially under his tutelage and continue to put his teachings into practice. He is an honest, admirable, loving human and Father (and Father-in-Law and Grandfather(x5)!).

Barbara Zavack - our Guardian Angel

The one who believed in us from the very start, Karen's Mom (Pete's wife and Gary's Mother-in-Law) was someone you immediately just felt at ease with in her presence. She took a backseat in the business, but made herself available whenever any of us needed to be encouraged or to find solutions to any issues that may have come up. Barbara was one-of-a-kind; a beautiful, gentle soul.  She was the calm in any storm and she helped keep us grounded and loyal to our roots. She unexpectedly passed away in 2020 at the young age of 66, leaving a hole in our hearts that can't ever be filled.  But, her memory and her love live on in all of us and we know that she will continue to guide us on this journey.
